    The Growth Era

If Taylor can go through her eras, then so can we.

I'm happy to say that we are now done with our Growth Era.

Our new location in the Centennial Center is stunning. We’ve been in the Centennial Center since 2019, but when as our lease was coming up in 2026 we decided to look around to see if there was a bigger space available. There was, right across the parking lot, and we jumped at the chance. Now all four of our stores share a common theme and feel. We’re so excited to share it with you!

As I think back on the crazy growth we’ve experienced, I can’t help but think of how naive I was when I got into this business. When we first purchased the store we were located on W. Cheyenne. Anybody who remembers that location knows it was a good store, but the location was out of the way. Nobody was going to walk by and see Red Rock Running Company. It was definitely a destination store.

Back when I still had a business partner, the decision was made to move the location to the Centennial Center. We found a spot at the old Sears Home Store. The spot was divided into two units. At about 2,000 sq ft, it was our biggest store. It felt huge at the time!

My then business partner took a stack of papers in a manilla envelope and dropped it in front of me. “You’re in charge of the build-out” he said. It wasn’t cool and it was a bit authoritarian, and now you can see why I don’t have a business partner anymore. Still, I took the challenge and built out the new Centennial location. Saving money was a priority at the time (as it truly is at any time) because we were just getting started as business owners. We were about 18 months into our adventure.

One of our reps used to operate a store and had all of his old fixtures in storage. John, ever the one willing to help, and I jumped on a plane, rented a moving truck, and drove everything down from Sacramento to Vegas. We unloaded the truck and the Centennial store was born.

Covid came to us shortly after opening our new location. It was very scary to have the responsibility of a new location and a pandemic forcing us to close our doors.

We came out of covid, I bought out my business partner, and I took a good look around the valley. After a lot of thought, we decided it was time to grow the business.

Welcome to 4 buildouts in 3 years, our Growth Era.

In 2022 we opened our Southwest location. We hired a designer, Brian Hawkins, and he took our look to another level. In 2023 the space behind us at the Henderson location became available. If anybody remembers the old Henderson store, it was only about 1300 sq ft. People were crammed in there! We took over the Suite behind us, knocked down the walls and had some fun with sledge hammers during a group run, and opened our new beautiful Henderson store.

In late 2023 we found a spot in North Las Vegas and started a buildout for store number 4 (buildout #3 of this phase, if you are counting). Our Deer Springs location is our largest at just about 5,000 sq ft. Brian outdid himself with our floating shoe walls. We opened Deer Springs in February of 2024, almost two years to the day after we opened our Southwest location.

We now had 4 stores, but only the Centennial Center store felt different. What was once our largest stare was now our smallest, and for the amount of business we did out of there it felt cramped and outdated.

Enter buildout number 4. Our contractor, Don from Triple D Construction and Development, did a great job with our buildouts. We’re glad we have a relationship with him, and if store number 5 ever comes along, we’ll be reaching out to Don.

In the meantime, it’s time to end this rapid growth phase! Our stores are set, our theme is set, and our vision is, as ever, to Redefine What it Means to be a Runner.

Thanks for coming along on this journey with us. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
